Our young composers taking part in this year’s Music Junction started writing a very special piece for LCO’s 100th birthday. Led by this year’s composer, Cheryl Frances-Hoad, the students took a beautiful poem written by mentee participants from Shaftesbury High School to create a song for us. We can’t wait to share the whole song with you, but for now, here are the beautiful lyrics:
“Congratulations on your great age
A century of music on the stage
Where so many people have come to hear
The sweetest music in their ears
We hope you enjoy your special day
And look forward to whatever may
Come to you in future times
To share more music with hearts and minds
Both young and old who all will say
“Happy Birthday LCO, Enjoy your Day!”
