London Chamber Orchestra launches concert series in partnership with Searcys and 116 Pall Mall
A series of intimate concerts: immersive and atmospheric evenings to relax with great company
The London Chamber Orchestra (LCO) presents an autumn festival in partnership with Searcys @ 116 Pall Mall. The three-concert series offers jazz, classical, minimalist and pop music in a relaxed, welcoming and immersive environment. The intimate setting transports the audience into the world of the music. From Radiohead to Louis Armstrong, Vivaldi, to Sigur Ros, journey along this musical world with us.
The series is hosted by Britain’s oldest and most distinguished hospitality company, Searcys, and 116 Pall Mall, a stunning Grade-I listed event, meeting and wedding venue in the heart of London, and home to the Institute of Directors. Located just a stone’s throw from some of London’s most famous landmarks – including Buckingham Palace, St James’s Park and Trafalgar Square – 116 Pall Mall has five floors of spectacular and versatile event spaces for hire.
You can start your evening of music and gastronomy with Searcys Confectioner’s afternoon tea, inspired by the company founder, John Searcy. Set under the ornate ceilings of the Morning Room, settle down for a selection of savouries including a Smoked salmon rillette with horseradish and pickled fennel, alongside freshly baked scones and pastries of Caramel choux, Blackberry macaron and signature Victoria cake. And to learn more about the history of afternoon tea and the venue’s architecture and art, there will also be a pocket guide available (one per table).
Concert tickets are £39 per person, Concert+ Searcys Afternoon Tea £69 per person.

Festival Programme:
- 24 September – A Wonderful World with Pete Horsfall
Celebrating the Genius of Louis Armstrong
For this special show, Pete Horsfall celebrates the music of the trumpet player, singer and greatest son of New Orleans – Louis Armstrong. Pete’s obsession with Armstrong’s music followed him to the USA where he was invited to play on Louis’ instruments, an experience that cemented his love and commitment to the repertoire of this musical giant. This concert will feature a cast of the UK’s most in demand jazz musicians, including Pete Horsfall – trumpet/vocals, Rachael Cohen – saxophone, Alex Bryson – piano, Ferg Ireland – double bass, and Matt Skelton – drums.
‘Ravishing‘ – The Guardian, ‘Truly an original new voice‘ – Jazz FM, ‘Timeless trumpet‘ – BBC Radio 3
Pete Horsfall is a critically acclaimed trumpet player and singer vocalist based in the UK. He has performed at many prestigious venues and festivals throughout the world, including many shows at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and a residency at The Lincoln Center in New York City. He has also featured regularly on national radio, including interviews and live sessions on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM.
Pete is a founding member of the award winning jazz group Kansas Smitty’s House Band and is currently a soloist with singer Clare Teal’s touring ensemble. In addition, as a session musician Peter has played trumpet and flugelhorn for an array of pop & hiphop groups including DJ Premier, De La Soul and Friendly Fires.
- 1 October – Chill Dusk
Sit back, dream, relax and meditate. This concert replicates the calm closing in of the autumn, as the nights draw in and the trees become still. This music creates a feeling of focus yet empty-mindedness. It is all about the sounds and the textures to create extreme relaxation.
The programme includes Philip Glass’ String Quartet No. 3, Radiohead’s Motion Picture Soundtrack, Arvo Pärt’s Spiegel im Spiegel and Jessie Montgomery’s Strum and Sigur Ros’ Hoppipolla arranged for String Quartet.
- 15 October – Autumn Glow
As Autumn approaches, candles are lit, bonfires burn and fireworks light up the night skye. This concert is a wonderful mixture of the impending excitement autumn brings with the warm crackle of a log fire. So have a warm tipple and crunchy toffee whilst feeling the tingles down your spine.
The programme includes Linda Buckley’s Exploding Stars, Max Richter’s On the Nature of Daylight, Elgar’s Nimrod and Vivaldi’s much loved Autumn.
