Prepare to be captivated by trumpet sensation Lucienne Renaudin Vary
At just 24-years old she has an impressive array of accomplishments to her name, for instance six acclaimed recordings and her own jazz quartet. In addition, she has also performed with major orchestras across the globe.
She was a 2021 Classic FM Rising Star, in the same cohort as, amongst others, pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason, cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, violinist Randall Goosby and organist Anna Lapwood.
Lucienne has built up a dedicated following of more than 120k on Instagram but witnessing her music-making live is the ultimate experience so you really won’t want to miss this.
In a concert full of contrasts, Lucienne’s masterful renditions of Haydn’s iconic trumpet concerto and Efrain Oscher’s vibrant Rapsodia Latina, with its pulsating Latin American rhythms, are guaranteed to be a musical highlight not just of the evening, but of your concert-going year.
The concert will end with Haydn’s 97th symphony, affectionately nicknamed ‘trumpets & timps’. It was one of six symphonies he wrote during his first visit to London in the early 1790s and it was first performed a couple of miles north-east from tonight’s venue, in Hanover Square.
