Musical legend becomes President
of LCO
The legendary pianist and conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy has become President of the London Chamber Orchestra.
This
new association was confirmed following the recent Hong Kong
International Piano Competition, for which LCO were the orchestra in
residence and Maestro Ashkenazy the Chairman of the jury.
LCO’s
Principal Conductor Christopher Warren-Green and Maestro Ashkenazy
enjoy mutual respect and a close working relationship, which spans some
thirty years.
Performances will be scheduled with Maestro
Ashkenazy as both conductor and pianist and LCO’s members are looking
forward to another exciting chapter in the orchestra’s life.
