LCO New encourages and facilitates new relationships between listeners, performers and composers.

LCO New: Explore Inspired by Architecture
Inherent to LCO New: Explore is the annual call for scores inviting student composers to write a short work for ten LCO musicians. Through a combination of an informal study day and open rehearsal and concert, the scheme aims to demystify contemporary music, affording new and existing audiences the confidence to try a new listening experience. A selection of these works are chosen to be performed, recorded, and published by LCO. This year’s scheme focuses on the relationship between architecture and music and will integrate with the East festival in March 2010.
